Richard E Berman, Esq. has been practicing law in Florida State and Federal Courts since 1977 and spent 2 years in New York prior to that time as a member of the New York Bar, and has tried cases in New York State Court and litigated extensively in the Southern District of New York, even well after moving to Florida. Of course in Florida Mr. Berman has had numerous jury and non-jury trials over the course of his career, in State and Federal Court.
He retired as a partner from my last firm, an AM Law 100 firm (700+ attorneys at Blank Rome, LLP) and prior to that he had his own firm for 15 years (Berman, Kean & Riguera, P.A.) and that firm had been selected as one of Fort Lauderdale’s finest.
He is now reducing the number of cases that he will handle, but is still engaged in commercial litigation, real estate litigation, probate litigation, and trial work of all types.
He has been Certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Civil Mediator for nearly 13 years and is currently engaging in Zoom mediation and arbitration, as agreed by the parties.
He has had many trials, both bench and jury trials in many different areas of practice, mostly in the South Florida Tri County area.
His practice includes commercial, corporate, real estate litigation of all varieties, including construction defect and lien claims, probate and trust litigation, professional liability defense of claims brought against lawyers, accountants, architects, engineers, bad faith claims, eminent domain litigation and numerous creditor claims and trials in the Bankruptcy Courts of the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.
